Fun & Faith Groups Fall Semester 2011 - Starting 9/19/11
Fun & Faith Groups are groups of 12-20 people that meet together 10 to 13 weeks for 90 minutes in a convenient location to learn about the Bible, to grow, and to have fun meeting new people! The goal of the group is to have fun, meet some new friends, and grow in your walk with the support of your new friends. Each semester you will have an opportunity to learn together, serve together, and play together. Fun & Faith Groups will begin the week of September 19th. Give it a try!

Class #1 - The Blue Parakeet w/ Scott Wilson
Time: 7:00pm
Location - TBA Cost of Book - $13.00 Phone - 899-5840 Why Can't I Just Be a Christian?' Parakeets make delightful pets. We cage them or clip their wings to keep them where we want them. Scot McKnight contends that many, conservatives and liberals alike, attempt the same thing with the Bible. We all try to tame it. McKnight's The Blue Parakeet has emerged at the perfect time to cool the flames of a world on fire with contention and controversy. It calls Christians to a way to read the Bible that leads beyond old debates and denominational battles. It calls Christians to stop taming the Bible and to let it speak anew for a new generation. In The Blue Parakeet, McKnight again touches the hearts and minds of today's Christians, this time challenging them to rethink how to read the Bible, not just to puzzle it together into some systematic theology but to see it as a Story that we're summoned to enter and to carry forward in our day. Class #2 - God is Never Late w/ Wendy Siegfried
Time - Wednesday Nights @ 7pm
Location - TBA Cost of Book - $13.00 Phone - 272-1877 ’GIVE ME PATIENCE, GOD - BUT HURRY!’ When we’re waiting on God to answer prayer, our timing and His timing are rarely the same. Sometimes it seems like God is in a different time zone altogether. We sometimes feel like we picked one of those numbers in the bureau of motor vehicle line and there are 78 others ahead in line. But we need God to wait on us--right away. This book is about trusting God even when it seems He is running late. It’s about God’s perfect control over the times and events of our lives--and about His perfect power to order those events in a loving and meaningful way. Despite our anxiousness, impatience, and worry, God is faithful to work in our lives at just the right time.
| Class #3 - Crazy Love w/ Pastor Brian
Time - Tuesday Nights @ 7pm Location - TBA
Cost of Book - $9 Phone - 587-4397 God is Love...Crazy, Relentless, All-Powerful Love. It's crazy if you think about it. The God of the universe- the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor- loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Why? Because the answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts — it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same. Join us for thought-provoking discussion, interaction, and practical application as we journey through Francis Chan's book Crazy Love.
