This past week the church board acted on a solution that we believe was provided by God. Pastor Brian was contacted by a Hutterite community from Cut Bank, Montana, who inquired about the availability of our pews. The church board saw this as a great opportunity to bless another church while providing a great solution for our own. On Wednesday night a semi-truck with Hutterite men arrived and along with several volunteers from our own church our pews were loaded onto their truck and they were sent on their way with many thanks and blessings between the two groups.
The church board this past week also authorized the purchase of new chairs for our worship facility out of a temporary fund with the understanding that we would seek help from our church family to help purchase the chairs. These new chairs are scheduled to arrive on the 24th of August. This will mean that we have at least one Sunday with temporary seating.
The church board is encouraging each family to purchase a chair for each member of their family plus 1 for a new person who has not yet come. Each chair costs $35 and we have purchased 100 chairs. We want to thank you ahead of time for your help in this. Someone made a financial sacrifice thirty years ago when the pews were purchased. This is our opportunity to contribute to a lasting legacy. When you make your contribution to the purchase of the chair fund, please mark your check “chairs” so that we can make sure it goes to the right place. Any extra funds donated will be directed toward purchasing more round tables.
